The person whom inspired her and the reason why she is writing; "the person who inspired and encouraged my love for reading and writing: my father." (Pg. 132 Everyone's an Author)
Vivid details she told the audience about was stated after her father could barely join her on bike trips. "Each time I arrived under the bells, I would recite the poem to myself, even when the weather was cold and my breath made the air foggy." (Pg. 133 Everyone's an Author)
For the most part from what is described she is telling the story from a Past tense perspective and some parts flash back telling certain parts of her life she cherishes while growing up. "Since we were about twelve or thirteen, he has consistently demanded that we each write a story at Christmastime rather than buy him a gift." (Pg.134 Everyone's an Author)
Point of view with in the story is the Author of the story is telling the story of herself in past tense format and telling it in a first person point of view. "I believe, because of my father, etc." (Pg. 135 Everyone's an Author)
In the beginning she stated that her father was the one person that inspired her into literacy, It was then stated through the narrative that her father has always been teaching her and somewhat strict, at the end of this narrative she stated that her father after passing gave her a special gift. "I have, however, received something from him that will last my whole life and will continue to give me joy as long as I live. He has passed on to me his love of language and literature." (Pg. 136 Everyone's an Author)
