The pieces of writing I have done last week would be; Texts, Blogs and a Memo. These three ways of writings alone are different in many ways, but each in their own way have the ability to nail a key purpose whether it be wanting to hangout with a buddy through texting or formally stating an opinion via blog posts.
Texting: Simple phone to phone message anywhere from 2- 255+ letters. Texting can also use simply words and abbreviations along with poor grammar slang and silly faces.
The situation I faced was simply to hang out with a buddy. Knowing he was my only target, I did not need to use any big words or complex words, but instead a laid back yet casual message stating a purpose of hanging out.
Blogging: A website or page that is updated regularly. A blog is composed of an informal or conversational message that is usually ran by one person or a small group of people. I have made quite a few blog posts in the past week. One in particular would be an answer to a question I have received from a book; "Is Everyone an Author." Since my target was not anyone specific I wrote in a somewhat formal yet informal way of speaking. I started right off the bat, by stating first and foremost what the meaning of an Author meant, along with a little background of where the meaning came from. I then broke down in three parts while explaining why a person is considered an Author.
Memo: Short and very brief statement or message both informal and formal. Usually posed as a reminder to a group of people or workplace sent buy one person or department to another. The Memo I wrote was to remind people to grab supplies and driving instructions and meet at a party. The message I wrote was a formal and brief to get the message a crossed and to deliver the goods.
