Questions
In the Story "Lydia's Story" by Jan Brideau, I read about a women who survived 2 hurricanes and was rescued 5 days later with no food or water. With in the story, highlighted at the end of the essay, the Author describes the fate and reality of a double hurricane and how through the tragedy and devastation there was, in the Authors' words, "An essence of hope and determination." In the eyes of the women who has survived the devastating event the reader is grasped with the sense of fear. While telling the story and using words like Rushing, Struck, Terrified, etc.the author was able to create a setting where the reader can freely imagine the situation and in away get the feel everything. The author this story published in, "Health Affairs," so more than likely the people reading this would be people who are interested in National Public issues with both present and future qualities.
