Examining the word Rhetoric

My definition of the word Rhetoric is, The art of effectively persuading or deceiving people through a means of writing or speaking. Looking back in history there are many ways to use rhetoric writing or speech. Martin Luther King Jr's great speech that moved an entire nation to a Presidential election for the next president of the United States of America. Rhetoric can be used to create movies, Propose ideas, solving scientific theories, etc. There are also different devices that can be used with rhetoric ways of speaking or writing. A few of these devices are simple means of repetition, (Antistrophe) or in other words, repeating the same word or phrase. Another, one of my favorites, Euphemism, substitution of an agreeable/non aggressive word that can be offensive or unpleasant.
Another way to look at Rhetoric is through a rhetorical point of view, another words from the outside in. Seeing a project in English class and you are assigned to the topic of why do Chickens cross roads. Taking into account of the Topic you can then start your writing process through means of what you want to write about. Different writing processes help with different situations, though people tend to stick to what they favor most. Clustering is an excellent way to start this process do to the fact that you can have your topic be in the center of a page and then create a spider web of ideas and facts to then write and create an essay. Another way is to Free write and just write what comes natural though researching tends to help sway your reason.
Lastly some of the quotes I found while reading is most important when going through any kind of writing process.
"Put in your Oar," thinking about the situation rhetorically before entering in on the topic at hand.
"Give credit, where credit is due," always when borrowing information and writing on a topic reference where you have gotten it from.
